Mineral plaster is a textured, breathable surface finish made from cement- and lime-based binders combined with mineral aggregate. It is used on facades as the top coat over external insulation, and indoors as a decorative wall texture. What are the advantages?
- It breathes: vapour permeability lets moisture inside the wall escape, reducing the risk of mould and blistering.

Where is it used?
Facades: the most common use is as the top coat of external wall insulation systems. It is applied over the thermal insulation after the mesh and base coat.
Interiors: living room feature walls, entrance halls, stairwells, offices and retail spaces — wherever a natural, warm look is wanted.
Outside wet areas: it is not recommended on surfaces in direct contact with water, such as the inside of a shower; other solutions are used there.

How is it applied?
- Surface preparation: dust, grease and loose layers are removed; cracks are repaired.
- Primer: a primer is applied to bond the surface and the plaster.
- Mineral plaster: applied by trowel or roller depending on the texture; thickness follows the grain size.
- Texturing: while the plaster is still workable, a scratched, granular or smooth finish is formed.
- Protective coat: water-repellent outdoors, stain-resistant indoors.
Air temperature and humidity directly affect the quality of application; it is not recommended in extreme heat or freezing conditions.
